Bitrix24 now offers the option to automatically delete messages in chats. You can set a retention period after which messages are automatically deleted. This is useful for discussing temporary issues or handling confidential information, such as coordinating vacation schedules or storing personal data.
Enable auto delete messages option
You can enable auto delete messages option in:
- one-to-one chats
- group chats
- collabs
Auto delete messages option can be enabled in new and existing chats.
In a new chat. When creating a new chat, enable the Auto delete messages option in the settings and select the period after which messages will be deleted.
Types of Bitrix24 chats
In an existing chat.
- Open the chat sidebar.
- Enable the Auto delete messages option.
- Specify the time after which messages in the chat will be deleted.
- All chat participants will receive a notification that the auto delete messages option is activated. The chat will be marked with a special icon.
Edit settings or disable auto delete messages option
The settings can be edited by:
- Any participant in one-to-one chats
- Creators and administrators in group chats and collabs, as well as Bitrix24 administrators
- Open the chat sidebar.
- Disable the Auto delete messages option or change the deletion period.
When changing the auto delete period:
- new messages are deleted according to the new rules
- old messages retain the previous deletion period
When disabling auto delete option:
- new messages are not deleted
- old messages continue to be deleted according to the previously set rules
When you change the settings, all chat participants will receive a notification.
- Bitrix24 allows you to set up automatic message deletion in chats after a specified time. This is useful for discussing temporary issues or handling confidential data.
- Auto delete messages option can be enabled in one-to-one chats, in group chats, and in collabs.
- When changing auto delete settings, new rules apply only to messages sent after the change. Previously sent messages continue to be deleted under the old conditions.
