Lesson 7. How to implement AI in your team

7 out of 7

If you've come this far, you already have a pretty good idea of what AI can do in Bitrix24.

Now, the question is: how do you integrate AI into a company's workflows and help the team to adopt it?

Depending on the approach, the process may take days, weeks, or months. Here's what we suggest.

Start with yourself – the management

The key element of success here is to get the team to understand the actual value and benefits of AI, rather than wait until they figure it out on their own (spoiler: most won't).

Your role, as the manager, is to serve as an example of passionate AI adoption. Because you don't use/believe in AI, it would be unfair to expect it from your team.

Start by talking about how you did this and that using AI and how it was a new, cool experience. Encourage your team members to follow suit and provide positive feedback to everyone who does.

Sure, people are naturally skeptic to almost any change in an established workflow. That's why there will always be some lag between the time a person gets introduced to a new tool and the time when they actually adopt it and start using on a daily basis.

Your goal is to facilitate this process of adoption and make it go as smoothly as possible. Don't rush it, and don't get discouraged when people resist at first.

Try to speak the language of benefits, not the one of technology. Instead of saying something like "Hey, we need to start using more artificial intelligence," go with "Here, let me show you how you can save 1 hour daily on call processing." When employees start seeing personal benefit in something, 90% of their resistance disappears.

Overcoming team resistance – practical steps

  • Resistance to change is okay – deal with it
Employees may be worried they won't understand the tool or that it will complicate their work. Objections like these are expected and should be addressed in a calm, logical manner, using benefit-oriented language.
  • Show, don't tell
Get your team together and demonstrate how AI can be used in a relatable, daily scenario – for example, using CoPilot to generate a reply to a customer email. Tools like call-to-text transcription and field autocompletion will impress the team more than words.
  • Find an early adopter
Once you've done the demonstration, pick a particularly curious employee or two, help them master the tool and get first results. Their story and word-of-mouth will inspire others.
  • Create a safe space
Just let your team members know: "At first, the results you get may not be perfect or could be even confusing, which is perfectly normal. Adopting a new technology is never easy, but it's always rewarding in the end.
  • Allow mistakes and experimentation
With the AI technologies on the rise, it's like the Gold Rush and Wild West all over again, but this time it's global. Teams (and companies) that adopt and start using AI faster, will get a real advantage in terms of speed and efficiency compared to those who are still on the fence about AI.

Don't wait for the perfect moment. Start small, move gradually – and you'll see the results coming soon enough.

Good luck!
