Gmail authentication error

Some of our clients get an authentication error when trying to connect Gmail to Bitrix24.

Authentication error. Please make sure your login and password are correct. Note that you have to use a special integration password if you use app passwords or if two-factor authentication is enabled. (NO [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure)).

You may get this error when connecting a mailbox for incoming mail or for sending outgoing mail using external SMTP.

To fix this problem you need:

  1. Make sure that you've entered the correct password.

  2. Check if you have enabled the two-factor authentication. If it's enabled, disable it or use a special app password.

  3. Enable less secure apps access in your Google account settings.

    Make sure to be logged in under correct Google account connected to the Gmail that you're trying to connect to Bitrix24.

  4. Log out from all the other Google accounts.

    Follow the link > click Continue > Confirm.

  5. Make sure that your password doesn't contain # or ^ symbols.
Data check is performed by Google and may take from 10 minutes up to 24 hours. =( That's Google's rules and Bitrix24 cannot affect them.
