Sometimes the final product or service price depends on certain conditions of the deal, and other data. The CRM catalog can be without prices or prices can be set according to the price list.
The Change product selling price in CRM entity access permission allows you to change the product price in deals, invoices, quotes and other CRM entities. The changes will only be saved in the deal form. They will not be displayed in the product formt and will not be visible on the website of the online store. A price entry field in the deal will be available for employees with this access permission.
How to use Change product selling price in CRM entity access permission
Let's consider some options for working with this access permission.
First, create a separate role and add sales department employees to it. Then enable the View product catalog access permission. Employees will be able to find and select the desired product from the catalog.
Other access permissions should be disabled for this role.
Then create the Customer - Manager role . Add the employees who work with key customers and enable the following access permissions:
- View product catalog
- Change product selling price in CRM entity
- Apply product discount
These employees will now be able to set individual prices in deals and apply discounts. In this case, they will not be able to edit the product directly in the catalog.
Create the Manager role and enable the following access permissions for this role:
- View product catalog
- Change product selling price in CRM entity
Create the Supervisor role and enable the following access permissions for this role:
- View product catalog
- Edit product
- Change product selling price in the catalog
- Change product selling price in CRM entity
- Apply product discount
An employee with the Manager role will be able to change the price in a deal and the price will only be saved for this deal. If such an employee changes the price in the product form, the price will be updated in the catalog.
