Invite a guest: how to add an external user to a task

Sometimes you need to collaborate with people outside your company, such as clients, partners, or freelancers. These users are external guests. They can work on tasks without getting access to other company data.

You can invite external guests to Bitrix24 tasks by email. This helps task participants share updates quickly while keeping other tasks private.

Assign a task role

An external guest can be a responsible person, participant, or observer.

To invite a guest:

  1. Open the task.
  2. Select a role.
  3. Click Add > Invite Guest.

Send an invitation

Enter the guest’s email address, first name, and last name, then click Invite.

After you create the task, the guest receives an email with the task details.


How guests work with tasks

After guests receive the email invitation, they can open the task, follow updates, and leave comments.

Guests receive an email notification every time the task changes.

External guests can forward notification emails to other people. Anyone with the link can access the task name, description, and comments. Do not include confidential or personal information in tasks.
