What to do if you receive a login notification in Bitrix24

Bitrix24 can send a notification: "Your account was accessed from a new device." This is an automatic security measure that helps detect suspicious activity and protect corporate data.

Reasons you might receive this notification:

  • You logged in from a new computer or phone.
  • You enabled a VPN or connected to a different network.
  • You opened Bitrix24 in another browser.
  • Someone else accessed your account.

In this article:

What information is included in the notification

The notification contains the following details:

  • Date and time: when the login occurred.
  • Device: the source of the login, including the device type, browser or app, and operating system.
  • IP address: the network address used for the login. This may change if you switch Wi-Fi networks, use mobile internet, or enable a VPN.

This information helps confirm whether it was you who accessed the account. For example, if you recognize the device and time, everything is fine. If something doesn't match, ensure no unauthorized access occurred.

What to do if you receive a notification

In most cases, the notification means you logged in from a new device or browser. Here's how to act in different situations:

It wasn't you. If you didn’t log in but received the notification, act immediately. For example, if a login from a Windows device is recorded at night, but you only use macOS.

  1. Log out of Bitrix24 on all devices except the current one. To do this, go to your profile, click Security > Authentication > Log out on all devices. Your current session will remain active, so you won't be logged out from your device.

  2. Change your password and enable two-step authentication. To change your password, click your profile photo in the top menu and select Change account. This will open the Bitrix24 Network profile page. Click Change in the Password section, enter your current password, and then enter the new one twice. If you forgot your password, you can reset it.

  4. Check your email and other services. If the same password was used elsewhere, change it everywhere.

If you're unsure. You received a notification but don't remember logging in at that time or from that device. This can happen when switching networks, using a VPN, or a different browser. For example, you opened Bitrix24 on your phone while traveling: the time matches, but the IP address is unfamiliar.

  1. Go to Employees > Time and reports > Login history. Compare the latest activity with the notification: check the time, device, and IP address. This will help confirm everything is fine.
  2. If you notice suspicious activity in your account, log out of Bitrix24 on all devices except the current one, change your password, and enable two-step authentication. Then inform your administrator.

It was you. If you opened Bitrix24 from a new device or browser, you might receive a notification—this is normal. For example, you logged in from your work laptop at home. To enhance security:

  • Enable two-step authentication. You’ll need to enter a one-time code from an app when logging in. This helps even if someone knows your password.
