Configure additional features in Apple Messages for Business

Before connecting Apple Messages for Business and sending a verification request to Apple, we strongly recommend testing all the possible usage scenarios.

To do that, you can set a special Apple Messages for Business test connection. The test connection does not require verification and starts working immediately, but, unlike the commercial connection, only Apple IDs that have been specified as testers can access this channel.

Important! Apple Messages for Business rich features include the capability to display rich links. Make sure that rich links are enabled in your Bitrix24 and are correctly displayed on Apple devices.
Bitrix24 Cloud

Go to the Settings section > enable the Enable rich media links option > click Save.

Bitrix24 On-Premise
Go to the Control Panel section > click Settings > System settings > Module settings > Main module > Settings > in the Rich media links section, enable the Enable rich media links option > click Apply.

Rich links are built using special meta tags of your website in the Open graph format.

If you send a webpage link to a chat and it doesn't have the Open graph meta tags, it won't be displayed as a rich link. Displaying rich links is mandatory for successful verification and connection of the Apple Messages for Business account to Bitrix24.

Setting a test connection

To set a test connection, select the Internal test account as a Messages for Business Account Type.

Next, you need to specify your Tester Apple IDs. Click the Add Apple IDs button. Note that only these users will be able to send messages via the Messages app to your Apple Messages for Business test account.

Tester Apple IDs

Don't forget to click the Send to review button. Your test account needs to have the Online status.

It can take some time to set a test connection, even if your test account has the "Online" status. To check if everything is ok, you can click the Live Chat link in the Apple Messages for Business settings on your Apple device. Next, try to send a test message via the Messages app. If it's successfully delivered, then everything is ok.

Rich features

To successfully connect the Apple Messages for Business to your Bitrix24, you need to show an Apple specialist all the chat processing capabilities (Rich features):

  • Rich Link
  • List Picker - selection list
  • Time Picker - time selection

That's a mandatory condition for the successful Apple Messages for Business verification.

In this article, you can find only examples for reference. CRM forms with chat processing capabilities for your Apple Messages for Business account verification need to contain data that are close to your business.

1. Rich Links

There's no need to additionally configure Rich Links. Any external link sent in Bitrix24 Messenger is displayed as a "Rich Link" in the Messages app and vice versa.

Important! We strongly recommend disabling the automatic response with the warning about collecting personal data until your Apple Messages for Business account is verified by Apple employee. It's a local link and it's not displayed as a "rich" link. To do that, go to the open channel settings > Agreement > disable the Send warning about collecting personal data option.

After your account is verified, you can enable this option back again.

2. List Picker

To send lists to the Messages app, you need to create a CRM form where there will only be one field: a simple list, or a multiple selection list (with checkmarks), or a list of products. Only this type of list in the CRM form will be displayed as a native list in the Messages app. If there is another field or several fields, an external link to the CRM form will be displayed in the Messages app, and your Apple Messages for Business account won't be verified.

An agent sends a list by clicking the Start selling button in the chat.

This option is not mandatory. To enable it, you need to contact Apple Messages for Business support either during the verification of the Apple Messages for Business account or at any time later.

When a client taps one of your company's phone numbers on his/her Apple device, a new window is opened, suggesting him/her two options: call this number or contact you via Apple Messages for Business.
