Configure additional features in Apple Business Chat

Before connecting Apple Business Chat and sending a verification request to Apple, we strongly recommend testing all the possible usage scenarios.

To do that, you can set a special Apple Business Chat test connection. The test connection does not require verification and starts working immediately, but, unlike the commercial connection, only Apple IDs that have been specified as testers can access this channel.

Setting a test connection

To set a test connection, select the Internal test account as a Business Chat Account Type.

Read more in the article - Connect Apple Business Chat.

Next, you need to specify your Tester Apple IDs. Click the Add Apple IDs button. Note that only these users will be able to send messages via iMessage to your Apple Business Chat test account.

Don't forget to click the Send to review button. Your test account needs to have the Online status.

It can take some time to set a test connection, even if your test account has the "Online" status. To check if everything is ok, you can click the Live Chat link in the Apple Business Chat settings on your Apple device. Next, try to send a test message via iMessage. If it's successfully delivered, then everything is ok.

Rich features

To successfully connect the Apple Business Chat to your Bitrix24, you need to show an Apple specialist all the chat processing capabilities (Rich features):

  • Rich Link
  • List Picker - selection list
  • Time Picker - time selection

That's a mandatory condition for the successful Apple Business Chat verification.

In this article, you can find only examples for reference. CRM forms with chat processing capabilities for your Apple Business Chat account verification need to contain data that are close to your business.

1. Rich Links

There's no need to additionally configure Rich Links. Any external link sent in Bitrix24 Messenger is displayed as a "Rich Link" in the iMessage and vice versa.

Important! We strongly recommend disabling the automatic response with the warning about collecting personal data until your Apple Business Chat account is verified by Apple employee. It's a local link and it's not displayed as a "rich" link. To do that, go to the open channel settings > Agreement > disable the Send warning about collecting personal data option.

After your account is verified, you can enable this option back again.

If you use Bitrix24 On-Premise (Self-hosted), make sure to enable the "rich" links option in the Main module settings and that they are displayed correctly on Apple devices.

2. List Picker

To send lists to the iMessage, you need to create a CRM form where there will only be one field: a simple list, or a multiple selection list (with checkmarks), or a list of products. Only this type of list in the CRM form will be displayed as a native list in the iMessage. If there is another field or several fields, an external link to the CRM form will be displayed in the iMessage, and your Apple Business Chat account won't be verified.

An agent sends a list by clicking the Start selling button in the chat.

The form is sent to the client only from the CRM forms section.

Edit the page, select the needed CRM form and click Save.

If everything is ok, the form will be sent to the iMessage as a native list, not as a link.

You can create a multiple selection list form in the same way.

Product list

Click the cogwheel button next to the added field.

3. Time Picker

Time Picker is also a CRM form with only one field added - Book a resource. Also, this field must be configured so that the default values of the booked resource are predefined and only one responsible employee is selected.

An agent sends a time picker by clicking the Start selling button in the chat.

After creating CRM forms and testing their work in a test account, you can configure the settings of the Apple Business Chat commercial account.

Chat Suggest

This option is not mandatory. To enable it, you need to contact Apple support either during the verification of the Apple Business Chat account or at any time later.

When a client taps one of your company's phone numbers on his/her Apple device, a new window is opened, suggesting him/her two options: call this number or contact you via Apple Business Chat.

Read more about the Chat Suggest option in the Apple support article.
