Employees often discuss work-related topics and plans in chats and channels. To avoid losing important information, create a task or meeting directly from a message, post, or comment.
Create a task
Select a message, post, or comment, right-click or choose Three dots (...) > More > Create task. A slider with a new task will open. The description will include the selected message text, which you can edit. The original message in the chat or channel will remain unchanged.
Enter the task name, fill in the required fields, and click Create task.
When you create a task based on a message in a channel or private chat, you become both the creator and the assignee. In a private chat, your conversation partner becomes the observer. In a group chat, all chat participants become observers. In a channel, you need to add observers manually.
A system notification will appear in the chat. Click the words highlighted in blue to open the task or return to the message it was created from.
In a channel, the notification depends on the place you created the task from:
- From a post — no notification will appear, but you can view created tasks in the sidebar.
View the list of meetings and tasks - From a comment — a notification will appear in the post's comments.
Create a meeting
Select a message, post, or comment, right-click or choose Three dots (...) > More > Create meeting. A slider will open. Enter the meeting name, specify the time, and select a personal or company calendar. The event time will adjust to each participant's time zone.
The meeting description will include the message it was based on. You can edit or delete it. The original message in the chat or channel will remain unchanged. Click Save.
