Automation rule test mode

Automation rule test mode helps you verify how triggers and automation rules work in deals. Use it when you start working with automation or when you set up new scenarios. You can review each step, catch errors, and confirm that your setup works as expected.

Run a test after you finish configuring your automation rules. The test mode window records all actions and shows any errors.

At this time, test mode is available only for deals.

Select a stage on the left to view its automation rules. On the right, choose the fields you want to track and review detailed logs.

Test modes

You can choose between two test modes:

To run a test:

  1. Go to CRM > Deals.
  2. Click Automation rules.
  3. Click Test mode in the top-right corner.
  4. Select a test mode.
  5. Click Start.
To use test mode, your role must include the User can edit preferences permission in CRM.

Test logs

All test results are saved in logs.

To view logs:

  1. Go to CRM > Deals.
  2. Click Automation rules.
  3. Open the Test logs tab.

A panel opens on the right with detailed results.

If you run multiple tests, rename your logs. This makes them easier to find later.
