Bitrix24 Channels: a new format for company communications

We introduced a new feature — Bitrix24 Channels. Use them to share updates, exchange knowledge, and connect employees around shared interests across a department or the entire company. Channels are available to all employees.

Channel features

Bitrix24 Channels are built into company workflows, which sets them apart from traditional messengers.

  • Quickly add participants. Add the entire company or a department to a channel at once. No need to invite each employee individually.
  • Automatic subscription and removal. When a department is added to a channel, new employees join automatically. Offboarded users are removed from all channels and lose access to Bitrix24.
  • Access permissions. Define who can add or remove participants and publish posts.
  • Discussions in one place. Each channel post has a dedicated comment thread. Quickly return to discussions and find the information you need.
  • Statistics. Track likes and comments on posts.

Channels provide a new way to keep employees informed. To make sure everyone stays updated on important changes, we added a company-wide channel.

The option to add an entire department or company to a channel is currently available only in Bitrix24 cloud. Support for the On-premise version will be added soon.

Company News

Channels are a new way to keep employees informed. We have added a default Company News channel. This channel cannot be left. New employees become its members automatically.

Company News is a system channel, so its settings are limited. A Bitrix24 administrator can choose who can add Feed posts.

  1. Click the settings icon next to your Bitrix24 name.
  2. Open Settings (⚙️) in the widget.
  3. Click Communications.
  4. Select General channels.
  5. Choose who can add posts to the channel.
  6. Save the changes.

Channels: use cases

Employees can choose open channels and join them independently.

Publish reports. Department supervisors can share weekly statistics and goals for the upcoming week.

Congratulate colleagues. Create a shared channel for celebrations. Publish posts, add reactions, and leave comments.

Learning and development. Channel members can share courses and feedback about them.

Personal blog. Share practical insights and exchange experience with colleagues.

In brief

  • Use channels to share updates, onboard employees faster, and discuss work topics. Communication in channels is available to all employees.

  • Channels are integrated into company workflows, which distinguishes them from traditional messengers.

  • Company news is a shared channel for all employees. This channel cannot be left, and new employees join automatically.

  • Channels work well for publishing news and reports, celebrating colleagues, and sharing expertise.
