Create and configure Bitrix24 Channels

Bitrix24 Channels is a tool you can use to share updates and keep your team informed.

Create a channel

You can create channels in the Bitrix24 web version or mobile app.

Web version
Mobile app
  1. Open Messenger > Chats.
  2. Click the pencil icon.
  3. Select Channel.

Enter a channel name and description. Then choose the channel type:

  • Public: The channel appears in the channel list. Anyone can join and view posts.
  • Private: Only subscribers can see the channel. The channel owner controls who can add members.

The Channels section shows all public channels. You can manage notifications in the sidebar and turn sound on or off.

Assign a channel owner and administrators. Set permissions and choose who can:

  • Add subscribers (specific employees, departments, or the whole company)
  • Remove subscribers
  • Post messages in the channel

After setup, add employees and start sharing updates.

Channels include two counters:

  • Green — comments
  • Blue — posts

In the Channels tab, you can find:
  • Public channels you have not joined
  • Channels you are subscribed to
Channels you follow also appear under Chats.

If you mention someone with @ in a public channel they have not joined, they receive a notification with a link to the comment. They can open and reply.

If you mention someone in a private channel they are not part of, they do not receive a notification.

  1. Open the Messenger section.
  2. Tap the plus (+) icon.
  3. Select Channel.

Enter a channel name and description. Tap Next, then choose the channel type:

  • Public: The channel appears in the channel list. Anyone can join and view posts.
  • Private: Only subscribers can see the channel. The channel owner can allow members to invite others.

Add employees to the channel and tap Create Channel.
