Search document content on Drive

In Bitrix24, you can search inside documents stored on Drive. This includes personal, company, and workgroup Drives. Use this feature when you have many files and don’t remember file names. Just enter a word or phrase from the document.

Enable document content search

  1. Click the icon next to the company logo.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open the Communications tab.
  4. Expand the Drive section.
  5. Turn on Search document content.
  6. Save the changes.

After you enable this option, Bitrix24 starts indexing all documents across Drives. Wait until indexing finishes. Search will work after that.


Search inside documents

  1. Select the Drive where you want to search.
  2. Enable the Search document text filter.
  3. Enter the document name if you know it.
  4. Click Search.
  5. In the search bar, enter your query (for example, a customer’s last name) and press Enter.

Bitrix24 returns all files that contain your query. Supported formats include .docx, .doc, .xlsx, .xls, .pptx, .ppt.

You can enter multiple words in the search bar. Bitrix24 finds documents that include these words.

Add more words to narrow down results.

You can only search documents you have access to. If you are in a workgroup but don’t have permission to view its files, those documents will not appear in search results.
