Bitrix24 supports three telephony connection options:
- Rent a number
- Connect a SIP PBX using the REST API
- Connect a SIP PBX using a SIP connector
You can connect both cloud and office PBXs using the SIP connector. This article explains how to choose the right option and set it up.
What is a SIP PBX
A SIP PBX lets you make calls over the internet. After you buy a number from a telephony provider, you can connect it to Bitrix24.
There are two main types:
- Cloud PBX
- Office (on-premise) PBX
To start:
- Go to CRM > Sales > Sales channels > Telephony.
- On the Connection page, choose Cloud PBX or Office PBX.
Cloud PBX
A cloud PBX (virtual PBX) runs on your provider’s servers. It does not require hardware.
You can use it on computers, desk phones, or mobile devices. No extra equipment is needed.
To connect your cloud PBX to Bitrix24, do the following:
Connect a cloud PBX
- Buy a number from a telephony provider.
- If you already have one, request your connection details: server, login, and password.
- Go to Telephony > Connection > Cloud PBX.
- Click Connect cloud PBX and enter your details.
Office PBX
An office PBX runs on hardware or software in your environment. It gives you more control over call routing and internal communication.
This setup usually requires installation and maintenance by your team or a vendor.
Connect an office PBX
- Buy a number from a telephony provider.
- If you already have one, request your connection details: server, login, and password.
- Install and configure your PBX system.
- Go to Telephony > Connection > Office PBX.
- Click Connect office PBX and enter:
- Connection name
- Server address
- Login
- Password
- Set up incoming calls:
- Open Connection parameters > Incoming calls.
- Copy the server address, login, and password.
- Add them to your PBX configuration.

Connection limits
- Up to 10 cloud PBXs per account
- No limit for office PBXs
Call charges
- You do not need to add funds in Bitrix24.
- Your PBX provider charges for calls.
- You get 60 free minutes for testing outbound calls.
After the free minutes, you need a SIP connectorSIP connector is a special software module of Bitrix24. It allows you to direct all outbound and forwarded calls from Bitrix24 to your SIP PBX. license to continue making outbound calls.

- Your PBX must support the SIP protocol.
- Check with your PBX provider.

If you cannot make outbound calls, check the telephony settings in Bitrix24. Make sure the SIP connector license is active, the employees have access permissions to make calls, and so on.
Troubleshooting outbound calls
Compatibility
You can use multiple connection types at once. Avoid using a REST app and a SIP connection from the same provider. This can cause errors.
Outgoing call settings
To make calls through your PBX:
- Open Telephony settings.
- Set your SIP PBX as the default number.
Do not use a rented number here if you want to avoid extra charges.
