You can create group chats to communicate with colleagues in Bitrix24. We are going to tell you about the types of chats, their settings and features.
Group chats
This is a chat room for collaboration. Click the Chat creation icon and select Group chat.
Enter a chat name and add participants. You can add a department at once: new employees will be added automatically and dismissed employees will be excluded. Click on the Departments tab and select the desired department.
Specify a description and configure privacy. If the Visible in search results option is enabled, company employees will be able to find the chat by its name and join it.
Configure access permissions to the chat. Assign the chat owner and administrators. Specify who can add and remove chat members, send messages and change chat theme:
- All members
- Administrators and owner
- Owner only
To delete a group chat:
- Open the chat sidebar.
- Click the three dots (...) button.
- Select Delete.
Video conference
Video conferences are group calls between employees and external users. When you create a chat with a video conference, a link to it is automatically generated. Send the link to participants who are not registered in your Bitrix24 account.
Specify a chat name and description, add participants, and configure privacy. Make up a password in the Privacy section to prevent unauthorized users from joining the video conference.
Configure access permissions: assign owner and administrators, specify who can manage the list of participants, send messages to the chat and change the chat theme.
